Where Valley Road School Came From
Valley Road School had its beginnings in three separate small public one-room schoolhouses in Princeton. They were Cedar Grove, Stoney Brook and Mount Lucas.
A decision was made to consolidate the three schools. A new grand building was planned and opened up in 1918 called Princeton Township School. Valley Road School came about when the hugh addition was put on the Princeton Township School to accommodate the building boom in Princeton.
After Princeton Regional Schools abandoned the Valley Road Building, it was used as the municipal building for Princeton Township. During the construction of the new township building, the Valley Road Building was sadly neglected. Its roof was not maintained, which contributed to its deteriorating condition.
